BRITISH LION would like to thank their agent for the exceptional work in putting together this tour at such short notice and are delighted that they will be able to play some shows this year. As the band hasn’t performed a headline tour in the UK since 2019, these dates will be the first opportunity for fans to see them playing tracks from their second album The Burning released by Warner Music (and by Explorer1 Music in the US) in January 2020, including Bible Black for which a new video was recently released.
Due to circumstances beyond our control British Lion are really sad and disappointed to announce that we will not be able to participate in the tour with The Darkness. Very recently we received their own protocols that are not Government protocols which are completely unacceptable to us. Therefore, we have no alternative but to withdraw from the tour.
The band will be undertaking a ten date European headline club tour in Summer 2022, in addition to the three festival shows already announced for Finland, England and Belgium, working in conjunction with the routing for Maiden’s 2022 Legacy Of The Beast tour. Five of the cities are there to make up for the shows that were cancelled back in 2020.

The Burning is a follow-up to BRITISH LION’s 2012’s eponymous debut album, Steve’s first ever musical venture outside of Iron Maiden which was pronounced both “brilliant” and “a big hearted ferocious triumph” by the music press. Paul Woolnough, CEO and Co-Founder of Explorer1 Music says, “Explorer1 offers a completely new turn-key solution for touring and recording artists such as BRITISH LION in today’s fast-changing industry. After watching them evolve over the last couple of years and after recently launching E1, it seemed the perfect time to partner and collaborate on the U.S release of The Burning and BRITISH LION’s touring activities. I am proud to welcome Steve and the rest of BRITISH LION into the E1 family and look forward to collaborating and working together for many years to come”

Steve Harris says, “I’m in the UK in December and thought it would be great to take British Lion out on the road for a few shows while I’m here. We haven’t played any in England since 2017 and as most people know, I love getting out and playing live whenever I can, so this seemed a good opportunity to fit some dates in. The set-list will be a mixture of songs from the first British Lion album and new songs from our upcoming second album which is due to be released early next year. We’ll be announcing full details of that very shortly.”
